A Soldier Needs Our Support

FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN FOR NAIK PRABHAKARAN (RETD)
In 2004, a 20-year-old from a small village near Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, became the first person from his village to join the Indian Army.
That young man was Prabhakaran M.
After reporting to the Madras Engineering Group (MEG) Centre, Bengaluru, for basic military training in 2005, Prabhakaran quickly distinguished himself. He won the Best Drill award in his platoon and earned selection to the battalion Kabaddi team.
Excellence became a hallmark of his military career.
Over the next decade, he served in Srinagar, participated in border fencing operations in Kupwara, underwent combat training in Akhnoor, and consistently earned recognition for his discipline, physical fitness, and commitment to duty.
A gifted sportsman, he represented his units in Kabaddi, Football, Handball, and Kayaking. His exceptional performance in Physical Training courses at Bengaluru and Pune led to his appointment as an instructor. In 2012, he was selected for the elite National Security Guard (NSG), where he once again graduated with the highest grading.
By 2015, life had come full circle. He was happily married, the proud father of a young daughter, and preparing for the next chapter of his military career.
Then, in a single moment, everything changed.
While reporting for routine morning training at the NSG base, Prabhakaran met with an accident. What appeared to be a minor fall resulted in a devastating thoracic spinal cord injury.
Emergency surgery saved his life, but left him paralyzed from the waist down. For a small period he even lost memories of his daughter and many of his Army colleagues. Months of hospitalisation and rehabilitation followed, but he never regained the ability to walk.
Today, Naik Prabhakaran M. (Retd) lives in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, with his wife, a homemaker, and their school-going daughter. The soldier who once trained others and served the nation with distinction now faces his toughest battle - rebuilding his life and earning a livelihood from a wheelchair.
Ekyam Impact Foundation is raising ₹10,00,000 to help Prabhakaran establish a small business that will provide sustainable income and support his financial independence.
We invite you to contribute at least ₹1000 or more. For a donation amount exceeding ₹5000/-, kindly fill the online contribution form or reach out to us on info@ekyamimpact.org
Every donation, irrespective of its size, brings him one step closer to rebuilding his future with dignity.
This fundraising initiative is being supervised by Maj Gen Jose Manavalan, AVSM (Retd.), Brig S. Rawat (Retd.), and Col J.K. Ahluwalia (Retd.), senior officers from Prabhakaran's regiment.
To independently verify Prabhakaran’s service, injury and the support plan, you may contact any of the above officers on email: sandy202er@gmail.com or contact us info@ekyamimpact.org
A nation honours its soldiers not only for the battles they fight in uniform, but also by standing with them when they face life's hardest battles after service. Together, we can help Prabhakaran begin again and secure a brighter future for his family.
